KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19: A competition aimed at increasing public awareness of consumerism was launched yesterday.The competition, to run until June 18, is being held in conjunction with the National Consumers Day by the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) in collaboration with the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.

 PETALING JAYA: The Water and Energy Consumers Association of Malaysia (Wecam) has cautioned people against being duped by companies selling water filters with dubious claims.
Its secretary-general S. Piarapa-karan said that among the claims were improvement in the body’s immune system, allergy reduction and elimination of toxic material from the water.
